So you have made all the proper plans in preparation for your departure from this life in the flesh. You made out your will, set aside all the proper funds, maintained life insurance policies and even decided where you will be buried.

However… what happens to the online accounts, personas, activities and assets after you are gone?

This is why you are here and why we are here to help you. This site will become your resource in getting EVERYTHING in order so that there are no surprises to your family and loved ones. We hope you find your stay here enjoyable and profitable for you.

What This Site Will Do For You

First of all, we’ll cover, through a series of postings/articles, all that must be considered when setting out to make the plans necessary for your loved ones to handle your entire online life after your real life has ended. We must consider what information will be gathered, in what form it will be recorded and how the documentation will be stored for future use.

Secondly, we’ll provide tools that aid in the preparation; most likely in the form of templates, spreadsheets, and links. The templates will be provided in a few forms (i.e., MSWord templates, OpenOffice templates, PDF forms and so on) so that we cover the needs of all our readers. Spreadsheets will not be as common in use as they are limiting in some ways. The links provided will reference other material, websites for storage of information, etc.

Finally, we’ll cover various issues related to preparation and execution. After all, you’re making a set of plans that someone else will follow. Therefore, some of the issues related to following that plan will be discussed so you can be better informed. Some of these issues will most likely be faced by your loved ones in attempting to follow your wishes.

However, not that this website is not intended as a replacement for legal counsel. Each government entity under which you reside has its own rules for handling some of the assets of an estate and these assets can include financial (Paypal and other items only accessed online) and virtual properties (domains, web sites, online stores, etc.) which fall under the laws of your government bodies. In some cases, we’ll be able to note those areas where there is some difference of handling if the law has to become involved.

At the very least, our hope is to make you aware of how to handle your ENTIRE life when preparing for the inevitable. We also plan on being here to help those who are having to make the changes due to the loss of a loved one.
